3 things for journalism students

Thursday, August 29, 2013
Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Along with instructions on how and when to file their assignments this fall (by email only, 6 p.m. the night before class), a brief professional bio of their professor (WXRT, yada, yada, yada, WXRT) and a sample quiz on style and grammar, here are three perspectives students will get Friday in the first Journalism 319 News Reporting class of the fall at Roosevelt University (where I return for a second year of once-a-week classes):

1. "Journalism Has Entered A Golden Age."

2. Jobs for journalists are on the upswing.

3. "I Won't Hire People Who Use Poor Grammar. Here's Why."
