Strip Joint

by Charlie Meyerson
InterViews Proprietor

Miss your favorite comic strips while you were on vacation? Wish your local paper hadn't dropped a strip you've loved for years?

Those days are history now, thanks to the World Wide Web.

The San Jose Mercury News now will let you make your own comics page, choosing from dozens of the most popular comic strips available to newspapers today. Your personal comic page features just the strips you like--in full color on your screen every day.

Not only that, but you can also view the entire last week's worth of any strip by clicking on the link that appears above each strip.

This is what they call a killer app, folks. And, in the long run, it's an early death knell for the traditional printed newspaper.
