I tried.

Oh, how I tried to get out of jury duty.

Cook County Circuit Court Judge Edward Burr was having none of it.

So I served.

And it was inspiring.

But after the trial ended, I had the last laugh: I, um, summoned the judge to be a guest on my radio show later in that month of February 1996.
